Heat Recovery Units
This project required six identical medium-sized heat recovery units with a duty of 1.0 m3/s, which EcoTech designed and manufactured in batches to the given specification:
- Counterflow plate heat exchanger with 78.1% efficiency (ErP)
- LPHW frost coil, chilled water cooling coil and LPHW heating coil
- EC motor-driven fans with backwards curved impellors
- G4 panel & F9 bag supply filters, and M5 panel return filters
The efficient design was able to achieve a low specific fan power of 1.39 W/l/s, safely meeting current building regulations.
Supply Air Handling Unit
A supply-only unit was supplied alongside the heat recovery units with a simple structure consisting of:
- LPHW frost coil, chilled water cooling coil and LPHW heating coil
- EC motor-driven fans with backwards curved impellors
- F7 bag filters
The unit achieved a low specific fan power of 0.323 W/l/s.
Manufacturing and Flatpacking
All units were first constructed at our in-house facility in Andover. Fan and filter sections were designed to have easy access for inspection and maintenance using lift-off panels with dual action hinges.
The units were supplied in flatpack form on pallets and reassembled in position on site, ready for final connections.
